Just coming off from debuting his first collection for Versace Versus at NYFW, Anthony Vaccarello arrived at Paris Fashion Week with his SS15 RTW collection on his eponymous line which carried some of the self-branding and sex appeal Versace is known for yet with a chic casual ease that’s all Vaccarello.

The Belgian designer by way of Italy showcased a collection of nautical inspired pieces that had a stronger seductive 80s appeal than they did about any type of marine-life allusions. There were a number of daring short, asymmetrical skirts showing plenty of skin, paired with just the right loose-fitting, breezy summer top. And then there were the giant block letters across some of the larger glossy pieces with the designer’s name and the name of the season for which they were designed for, suggesting that Vaccarello has fallen for the logo-trap that some have all too easily fallen for, worrying us just a tad that perhaps he’s navigating his line into a more commercial friendlier zone.

As for now, his SS15 collection is in motion with his previous work – unassuming, confident with just enough of a come-hither attitude.
