Dior Homme F/W 2014
At Tennis Club de Paris for Dior Homme, Lilies of the Valley sat atop of each seat for porte bonheur. Luck was the theme of the show and carried on through the collection.
Christian Dior was a man of hard work and luck, in both life and in belief. Before any major decision, Dior consulted his clairvoyant for advice. No show was presented without one coat named after his home town Granville, a seaside town in Normandy, France.
Kris Van Assche continued forward with the trust of mythology by incorporating original elements used by Monsieur Dior in turn creating one of the best collections he has done since the beginning of his tenure with the brand.
A revival of some of the most iconic details in Dior’s archive were exquisitely revived and placed in fine detail amongst a classic presentation of pinstripes and polkadots in suits, outerwear and formal utilitywear. Gorgeous flower embroidery was placed on coats, sweaters and buttoned shirts. And amongst the collection stood out the lucky lily of the valley flower, as a stunning brooch, just about as timeless as the luck it has provided to a maison that never needed it.
