Opening Saint Laurent’s Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2015 season with a rising stage revealing an elaborate light and sound system (if there was an award for elaborate set design each season, Hedi Slimane would be the top contender), and falling just low enough for the show to begin, messy haired mavens stormed the stage unapologetically to The Felines‘ ‘Pretty Boy,’ an original song written and recorded for the collection itself (via Burger Records).

On the runway were the women your mother warned you about; ripped fishnet stockings, hair tossed and teased about, heavy eye liner and a bad attitude. If last season was Sid Vicious, this time it’s Nancy Spungen’s turn.

As the lyrics of Pretty Boy rang throughout Carreau du Temple loudly… “I’ll have champagne while I forget your name, and I’ve got my crew looking for you,” Hedi’s girls dressed in leather mini’s, mens jackets, a stunning multi-colored fur, animal print capes, and leather jackets. South Carolina’s Lida Fox opened the show in a rebellious new-wave tulle dress paired brilliantly with a grey overcoat instantaneously taking something lovely and transforming it into bad ass which may encompass the essence of the collection as a whole.
