New York-born and raised singer/songwriter Arsun has released his latest single, “Lay Me Down,” a continuation of his earlier vintage sounds as heard on his 2018 EP, Send Her Way, and his previous single “Dead Sixty-Six.”
“I was playing ’60s R&B ballad progressions on the guitar, singing a bunch of folk songs, and reading a lot of that type of poetry at the time. So when I sat down to write I just tried to incorporate the things I was into.” – Arsun
With his love for classic rock and R&B, it’s only fitting that the track was mixed at the legendary Electric Lady Studios.
Perhaps he owns some of his artistic ambitions to his father, Mario Sorrenti, who shot the shared video of Arsun performing the new single. Yet the young musician’s songwriting abilities set him quite apart from the famous fashion photographer. His songs are lush ballads, each shrouded in the yesteryears.
