On photography, William S Burroughs once said, “there is in fact something obscene and sinister about photography, a desire to imprison, to incorporate, a sexual intensity of pursuit.” One can attribute those words to the work of Cameron McCool.
The Los Angeles based photographer has a knack for capturing photos that are filled with lustrous intensity, often times his photos may seem sexual in nature. He makes it obvious, by leaving his photos untouched, that he respects his subjects by representing them with a significant degree of raw and sincere honesty. Aided by his usage of 35mm, Cameron McCool’s photographs are remarkably cinematic.
He recently released a selection of 12″ X 18″ prints that can be purchased directly from his site.
