We spotted Hedi Slimane at the Observatory in Southern California during a Burger Records show once and it was obvious then that his love for rock and roll runs deep.
It was reminded to us in his invitation for the F/W 2014 presentation which showcased the artwork of Raymond Pettibon, a legend in his own right for creating some of the most highly coveted artwork for his brother’s band famously known as Black Flag. Another reminder? Hearing Froth’s “General Education” play as the soundtrack for the show (an extended version especially for Saint Laurent), a track from their 2013 release, Patterns.
Tonight, the boys in the band were dressed to the nines. Dr. Skinnybones, Jungle Doctors, White Room, Rexx, Solid Brown, Western Hands, Blurry Boys, Kin, Astral Pattern and The Din compile the list of the svelte band members who walked the runway. In a sophisticated offering, tailored coats in a bountiful of different selections (leopard print, tweed, houndstooth mohair, herringbone), cigarette trousers and jackets were presented showcasing the glitz and glam of Hedi’s true love: rock and roll.
