Film writer, director and producer Janet Mock opens the beginning of Blood Orange’s new video “Charcoal Baby” with a monologue about creating your family — “I think of the spaces where you don’t have to shrink yourself, you don’t have to pretend or perform; you can be yourself.”
Directed by Crack Stevens, the new video from Blood Orange juxtaposes two families, the family you are born with, the family you choose and the love from both.
